Two years ago we got our second dog, a collie.
Collies are said to very friendly and open to everyone. Furthermore they do not bite people. After we got our first collie, I have to say all this statements are proved to be true. Indeed collies are very easy to integrate in a family and she had never bitten a family member or a guest.
Out of my experience I can say that collies see themselves as a family member, therefore you should not exlude them much, otherwise they easily feel lonely.
When you consider to buy a collie, you should keep in mind that sometimes you need to care more about them, then other dogs, because you need comb the collie often, otherwise they look unkempt. They look very beautiful and give a positive feeling to everyone, who looks at them.
I recommend collies for everyone, for people who live alone or for big families. Indeed they are great dogs, easy to educate. All in all we do not regret our decision, to buy a collie.
