Everyone Loves Lad

Lad was my Grandparent's dog. She had long beautiful hair that my grandma used to pay me a quarter to brush every time I came over, which was about every other day. My Grandparent's had gotten her before I was born and I grew up with her (The picture is of Lad and I when I was a baby). She was great with my sister and I as children and was more laid back and loving than protective and aggressive.

Lad was a good dog and enjoyed playing amongst the farm animals next door but she always came sprinting home when we whistled for her. My grandparents never put her on a leash and never had a problem with her getting lost. She was great with strangers as well. My grandparents owned a small engine repair shop on their property and people would come in and out of the store front frequently, Lad was the first to greet them and customers would ask for her if she was in the house. It was hard not to love such a gentle, loving, and beautiful dog.
