My collie/lab mix was probably one of my all-time favorite dogs. She was a rescue, saved from an abusive home, and I couldn't be happier than to have had a hand in that.

Despite her circumstances, she was always well-behaved and quite pleasant. She never bit anyone, and only destroyed black shoes. Color-specific, yes. I assume that stemmed back to the abuse thing.

I have sincerely never seen a dog love frisbees as much as she did. Indoors, she was mellow and pleasant as could be, but as soon as she had room to run she was ready to play. I don't think you could ask for a more perfect personality in that context.

She was alright with other dogs, but cats and rabbits were another story. She was always more than eager to chase them down, much to the detriment of the person attached to the leash.

All around, I was always amazed by her seemingly perfect disposition for the circumstance. Truly a wonderful dog.
