These dogs are cute, they're affectionate, they make great pets-- for older people. We had four while I was growing up. Each one bit harder than the last. If you have kids, then know you'll be training these dogs to be gentle all the time. I grew up with a lot of dogs and none of them were biters like cockers were which is awful because they're adorable little dogs and are nearly perfect for laps and families. But they don't have great manners. If you shave them their coat is much easier to groom. Otherwise you're looking at professional visits to get the flat on top and long on the sides look if you like it.
