I have 2 of these wonderful dogs...Sophie is my baby..she is 1 year old...and we just adopted another from a bad situation...Sampson is just 16 weeks old!

My experience with cocker spaniels, although short, has been wonderful!  I have quickly determined that this is my favorite breed.  The trainability, companionship, affection, dedication are more than I ever imagined.  My first experience with this breed, when when i was a child, my cousin always had them, and I always enjoyed visiting.  I finally decided after several years, and several other breeds, to try one of my own.  They do require more grooming than the other dogs I've owned, which was the delay in having one.  But, I certainly don't mind it now.  Their agility skills, happy nature, and loving spirit make them a great pet.  They do require a bit more exercise than I was used to...however, I found that it was a great excuse to get me fanny off the couch and get some exercise myself!  With a professional grooming every 5 weeks or so, she only requires a good brushing 2-3 times a week, depending on how short or long I have her hair cut.  Their ears require regular cleaning as they don't get any air to prevent fungus, and the get stinky if not kept clean.  Minimal shedding, and very friendly with people of all ages, and get along well with other dogs.  However...mine are cat chasers!!
