We had a Cocker Spaniel for about 10 years when I was growing up. I do think that this is an attractive breed of dog that doesn't require a lot of upkeep.

There were a couple of downsides we experienced with ours though.. First, she barked at any noise out of the ordinary, including the garbage truck, car doors shutting, a knock at the door, etc.

The other thing would be that I prefer the type of pet that likes to spend time with you. With Taffy, occasionally being in the same room as you was about as close as it got.

Not a bad breed by any means, just not ideal for me.
