Taffy was one of the female cocker spaniels we bought to breed AKC-registered puppies with. She was a beautiful copper-colored, smooth coat cocker spaniel with a sweet and friendly temperament. As she was bought more for the purpose of breeding, she wasn't allowed inside, which limited my exposure to how she interacted in that environment.

However, she was an incredibly sweet and friendly dog. She loved children and played well with children of all ages. Cocker spaniels make excellent mothers. She took great care of her puppies and we never had to worry about her puppies thriving.

In terms of her breed, female cocker spaniels unfortunately pee all over the place when excited. This is one of those downfalls that those sweet eyes make it easy to overlook most of the time, but definitely makes you think a female cocker would do better outdoors. Grooming is required in order for cockers to stay healthy, as when the hair around their ears gets too long or matted, they are prone to ear infections.

Overall, cocker spaniels are beautiful, sweet and friendly dogs.
