Rocco: Beware Chihuahuas

Here’s the thing about Chihuahuas: based on all of them I’ve known, they not only know how small they are, but they’re offended by it, and furious with the universe as a result. That is to say, Chihuahuas are jerks. They’re cute, yes, but they’re not nice.

My family used to know a breeder. Outside of knowing all of his dogs, we also fostered one for him. Rocco was probably as close as a dog could be to a nightmare without actually being badly behaved. He was easy to housetrain, yes, and he understood the theory of “sit” and “down” and “stay”…when he was in the mood to do so. Unfortunately, he had a nasty habit of biting. The same has to be said for all of his siblings, and his parents. After the fostering of Rocco and the knowing of his family, I can’t suggest Chihuahuas as the best of the small dog breeds.
