My Roommate and I got a dog...

Brandi is the dog my roommate and I got the second semester of freshman year at college. She was just a baby and could fit in the palm of my hand. Immediately, I was the main caregiver, including vet bills. She had a hard time not using the bathroom inside. In fact, resolve became my best friend to clean the carpet. Even now, at 7 years old, if she is left in for more than 5 hours, she will most likely have an accident. I have to say that this is probably the worst part about small dogs. This one definitely has a tiny little bladder that she doesn't have a great deal of control over. Perhaps this is just a small dog problem. However, she is a cuddler, fetches, chases, returns, plays, and is a very pleasant dog to own, apart from the constant barking. Anything she hears she barks at. She also loves to hump things. This has tapered off in the last couple of years, but she certainly loves teddy bears and arms if you're not careful! She's a wonderful dog, however, and I wouldn't give her up for anything.
