Lucy came to us a few years back from a Shelter in my city. She had a sister that we considered adopting as well, but she was adopted to someone else that same day! As a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, people expect her to be yappy, but she really doesn't bark very much. She is a sweet, cuddly type who does not like to be far away from her favourite people!
Lucy is good with older kids, and friendly with babies, but does get very excitable and jumps a lot when new people come into her space. She loves to give kisses, which can sometimes overwhelm younger children. She means well, but does not have the patience to allow very young children to be in her space for extended periods. That being said, she is very good with showing us when her patience is wearing thin, and has never snapped at anyone!
Lucy sleeps in bed as though she were a person, with her head on our pillows and her belly in the air! Sometimes she acts more like a person than a dog!
I would recommend this breed to someone who has older children, or is just looking for a constant companion! Lucy gets sad when she is left alone, but is a trooper for a 40 hour work week. To keep her company, she has become best friends with our cat! We introduced the cat as a kitten when Lucy was already full grown, and she took to her well!
She gets VERY excited to see her people when we return home!!
