I had Joker for 8 years now and the most important thing to know is that you need enough space for such a large dog.
He's very friendly especially towards small dogs and children. But this is a trait that can vary from dog to dog in this breed, so at the beginning you should watch the character of your dog carefully. These dogs are full of energy and love long walks in the forest where they can run around.
He is very smart but has a mind of his own. When you are taking walk with this breed you have to expect that everywhere he wants to stop, he will stop. Because they are so large it's almost impossible to move them when they don't want to. That is one reason why this isn't a dog for everyone because you have to have strength to hold them. If you let them roam around in the garden you have to expect a lot of holes because they love to dig. Maybe this is an individual trait but Joker can't stand cars, and will start vomiting after just a few minutes.
