I'd been begging my parents for a dog for years when Pete came into my life. We got him as a baby and he was the cutest thing I'd ever seen. Pete was a good dog who loved being around all members of the family. His brindle coat required minimal brushing, so there wasn't much dog hair to clean up. While he was a good dog, it was very difficult to house train him. Because I was only a young girl, this was very frustrating and I quickly got tired of picking up dog doo several times throughout the day. However, as he grew up, Pete matured and came to know that the best place to go was outside. Pete was a very vocal, active, and exciting dog. To this day, my parents' blinds are still ruined from the times he would tear them up in order to see who was coming up the driveway. He wasn't at all aggressive toward the family and actually loved giving hugs, as odd as that sounds.

I would definitely recommend a boxer for anybody who doesn't mind big dogs and putting in a little extra work when necessary. These are loving animals who will make all of the extra work worthwhile.
