This is on the Bouvier.
We (family & I) received two Pure Breed Bouvier's
when they were about 7-8 years old. When we received them
they weren't taken care of that good.. they had
choke collars stuck inside their skin & hair,
their hair was full of
mats, really long and they weren't in that good of shape.
The person we got them off of, must have kept them
outside as well. We always keep our dogs inside, in our
Right away once all cleaned up and fixed, they came
right into the family amazingly. We had another small
dog already and they got along right away aswell. Both (male and female) were very cuddly and
I find the Bouvier to be a family dog. They are very smart and
protective as well. We had had a piece of tape that kind of boardered the kitchen and living room and they would have to stay behind the tape. And they'd go lay down, feet by the tape but not over it.
One time we had a cop come into our yard in their vehicle and
once they stopped the vehicle the dogs went to their door,
leaned against it so she
couldn't get out.. she figured we were safe.
Eventually when the dogs were between 15-17 we got them
put down, the male first.. he ended up getting lots of sist's
and cancer. And then
the female started to get sick after he was gone. I would say
Bouvier's are some of the best dogs you can have for your family.
They were definitally one of the family, even sat with you like
a human. Very special kinds of dogs. We didn't really train them much when we got them, but they seemed to know right away what not to do, and to ask to be let out etc.
I would definitally recommend one.
