Acquired: Breeder (professional)

I got Jake as a small puppy. He was a sleepy and quiet bundle of fur that seemed to be less of a handful than the brother and sisters of his that relentlessly climbed over him as he tried to sleep. With in a few short months, he more than doubled in size and weight, and by the age of two was over 120lbs. Bouvier Des Flandres are an excellent breed for people with yards or farm land for them to explore and are extremely compassionate, smart, loving and intelligent dogs to have.
The only thing that I would caution when considering a Bouvier Des Flandres, is to have extra patience with training as they are herding dogs who tend to take longer getting used to leash training and have a habit of pulling and herding even their own masters.
Over all, I loved Jake, and everything he was to me and my family. He was a very funny and intelligent dog who was often more quiet than most dogs and was a very compassionate and gentle pet; really great for families with kids. I would get another Bouvier Des Flandres one day, when I have the land for him to enjoy.
