We adopted Maximus when he was 10 months old from the Humane Society in Texas. He seemed alright as a puppy but as he got older we realized he loves to dig in the yard (ugh) and he is very high strung as well as attention needy and anxious. We have tried training as well as visits to the vet but we just have adjusted to his personality. Maximus loves the kids and gets along with our cats. Maximus does well at dog parks with other dogs but does not do well with strangers. Maximus barks and growls at people he doesn't know. Great guard dog though. Look forward to many more years with him as a part of our family.
