Acquired: Breeder (hobby breeder)
Posted April 4, 2016
My father runs cattle so has always had Border Collies. We acquired Jessie from a neighbour and from the get go she was amazing. Dad bought her to use for mustering the cattle as this breed is exceptional in handling livestock.
Jessie was a breeze to train and always very eager. She wasn't a "yappy" dog, but would always bark when she needed more attention from the cattle she was working with.
While she wasn't a "house dog", she was very good around my sisters and I and was always around for a pat. She never once tried to nip or bite.
She had medium length hair and was rarely groomed as she was a farm dog, but somehow always managed to still look lovely.
Dad has since bought more Border Collies and I would strongly recommend them for people who have space and room for them to move. If you DO NOT have space though, steer clear, as this breed get bored very easily and needs lots of exercise.
