Border collie - a lovely companion

We rescued our first generation border collie mix from another city and have been blessed with a beautiful dog. It is true what they say about border collies - they are very energetic (though ours has successfully adapted to apartment living - it's possible) and scarily smart and cunning. Our dog even figured out what phones are for and learned to have phone conversations!

On the down side, they truly are neurotic and can easily develop OCD. Some can even get a little vocal - probably not as loud as huskies but you might find yourself fielding grouchy demands from them, especially when they perceive it's dinner time or walk time. I personally find that trait quite charming, but your mileage may vary.
