Shelby was definitely an outdoor dog. She was initially purchased for coon hunting, but ended up being a loyal companion. She didn't spend time indoors, and was always very content with being outside. She didn't wander too much, except for when she got older. She was always absolutely amazing to strangers and other animals, and only barked when there was another animal or visitor on the property. She did smell quite a bit and wasn't a fan of baths… at all. She also didn't take well to getting her nails cut. Shelby would make an excellent family dog. Not many members of my family were dog lovers, but I think she would have thrived a lot more with younger children that could always keep her on her toes. No complaints - I would 100% recommend this breed to anyone.
