I loved my little dog. She passed away last year... but she lived to be 18 years old and an incredibly long and healthy life.
The Pros of my little dog: she was cute as all get out and very cuddly. She was super smart, and my family and I were able to train her to do a number of cool tricks. As a result of being so smart, she was also a good watch dog and alerted my family when strangers were around.
The Cons of my little dog: even though she was a good watch dog, she was not a guard dog at all (because Pro: she was very friendly). Also, my little dog was very, very stubborn. She was difficult to house train and sometimes would still go in the house just to be spiteful or (forgive my language) pissy.
Overall, I loved my little dog very much (and I still miss her), but I would only recommend a Bichon Frise to an owner who had plenty of time to invest in training and paying attention to this little white muff because these dogs are a little bit high-maintenance.
