Bella is a weird dog... best way to describe her in all honesty. We were told she was a Bernese Mountain Dog mix but as you can see from the photos I can't help but laugh at that. She is a small dog, stands low to the ground and is pretty stocky. From when we had her up until maybe two years ago she was a wild dog. Always hyper, people come into the house she would run around wanting attention. When you would actually try to give her attention and pet her she would be so excited and move so much it wasn't even possible to do so. She grew up with another dog older than her and anytime someone would pet the other dog, even if Bella was in the other room, she would run in and try to steal the attention. Now she has mellowed out. She still loves getting pet and having attention but she is much more relaxed about it. We question if part of her breed is some sort of herding dog because when we recently moved to a farm she has quickly picked up on helping us heard the deer away from the crops we have planted. She is extremely fast!! Now that she has mellowed out she really demonstrates how intelligent she is. Grooming is okay. She leaves dog hair everywhere no matter how many times you brush her. When you pet her you're bound to be left with a hand filled with dog hair and with dog hair all over your clothes. She rarely barks. I think I have herd her bark maybe five times in her life. While she was crazy in the beginning (for a while) you can't help but love her. She is one of the happiest dogs I have ever had the pleasure to meet yet alone own.
