The Belgian Tervuren is a high-energy, intelligent breed that enjoys having "jobs". My present Tervuren loves being a part of things, plays easily with other dogs and people, but has a strong prey drive and will hurt cats and small animals. She becomes stressed when she is separated from me,or when she hears thunder or other noises such as the dishwasher, vacuum and printer. There is no special clipping necessary, but bathing and grooming the long hair of a Tervuren is important, as it mats easily. The Tervuren is great in agility and obedience trials, and is a natural sheepherder.
