Beautiful Beagle, Great Mom

Our beagle was a wonderful family pet. She was super-gentle with all four of us kids (ranging from preschooler to upper elementary at the time). She was a good mom to her only pup - a litter of one.

Very smart - she learned to climb up some horizontal pipes, using them as a ladder, to get to the second level of the greenhouse attached to her outside run. From there, she'd bump open a pivoting window, to jump out and take herself on a run.

That was about the only thing wrong with her - she loved to go out on her afternoon runs! I followed her one day, on a three-hour run, and discovered all her neighborhood doggie friends. That's how we came to decide that "Boo Boo Bear" was the father of her pup. ;)

Though an escape artist, she was a wonderful dog. Unfortunately, those escape artist tendencies lead to her early demise - she was hit by a speeding car as she crossed the street.
