Abby the Beagle

I got Abby as a rescue dog from a shelter when she was just a puppy. She was about to be put down because no one wanted her after she had been previously abused by the men who owned her. She hated men but fell in love with me and the rest of my family. She would sleep in bed with me on the pillow beside me. She was easy to walk and because of her small size was easy to control when walking. She did have a loud bark but it usually only happened when men were walking by our yard. She was very relaxed unless she was out running around fetching a ball which she rarely did after she got out of her puppy years. As a mixed dog she was smaller than some of the other beagles I knew and her bark was also less annoying. She was easy to house train and usually woke me up in the morning when she needed to be let out. She was great to cuddle with on the couch and aside from her hating men there was really not a negative experience in being her owner. I definitely would recommend a beagle to anyone who is looking for a low maintenance dog that just needs to be walked daily and loved.
