First and foremost, this dog is my heart! We had some ups and downs the first couple of years, mainly with potty training and learning not to chew shoes and walls...some of that was my fault as I had an erratic schedule and wasn't very disciplined with him. I finally gave in to crate training and after a couple of years of that, he no longer requires it. In fact, he is so accustomed to my schedule, I have to wake him up to go outside whenever I leave for work in the morning. Guess he likes to sleep in just as much as I do! As for barking, he's part Beagle (unknown who the daddy was) and barks just as you would expect from a hound dog...at every person walking past my living room window. He only does this when I'm around, which makes him a great "watch dog". Also, he is very submissive and has never tried to bite anyone, which makes him great with any temperament. The only teeth marks I have received are when we are playing rough and he gets carried away. He is a bit of a loner though and takes a bit to warm up to other animals, although he is never aggressive.
