The Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog I had the pleasure to come into contact with was the best dog in the world. She was extremely smart, quick to learn various commands and tricks. She was easy to keep, unlike some other breeds. She was in excellent health, very easy to groom and very happy to be around the resident cat. The Australian Shepherd in her did get fixated on small animals to a point where I would have to drag her away from the guinea pig's cage. She was never a barker and always a terrible guard dog - she would lick everyone she ever saw! She was a great watchdog though and used to chase coyotes away from our house. I miss that dog!
