I've loved my fathers dog since he got her. She is very loving, playful, but also excitable. I remember when she was younger, when she would be let in from going outside, she would literally bounce off the walls. She also barked a lot, at nothing sometimes. And whenever a stranger would come to the door she would bark incessantly and then pee on the floor. I still love her to bits, she is an amazing dog. She is great with my dads young children. She needs a lot of exercise, but is very good on the leash. Oh and one last thing, when you walk through the house she sometimes goes into her "herding" mode, where she will nip at your heels and growl at your feet. Not in aggression, though. Overall I think this combination of breeds is good for someone who is looking for an active, fun loving companion.
