My family has owned a number of Australian Cattle Dogs. Our most recent dog came from a reputable breeder, and we had numerous conversations with her about what characteristics we were looking for in a dog.

This particular dog is a great dog. He definitely needs plenty of exercise, as most Australian Cattle Dogs do, and chases geese at a local golf course, which he loves. He seems happy to have a job, but also goes for daily walks in the woods - like I said, a lot of exercise.

He's been fairly easy to train, but is definitely a one-person dog. I've found this to be true of most Australian Cattle Dogs. Even though he's good with all of the family members, he definitely has his favorite person whom he respects and listens to the most.

He's great around other animals, including cats. Despite the fact that he is trained to chase geese, he knows to leave cats alone and shows no interest in them.
