I have decided to lump these two dogs together even though only Sierra was a part of my immediate family because the two dogs have had similar personalities and issues. Both dogs have been loving and gentle with their immediate family surroundings, however they are very wary of people and children they do not know and this can sometimes cause problems with nipping! They are very protective of their families and surroundings, so they must be properly trained and socialized if you are looking for a dog you can take anywhere! Unfortunately for us, Sierra had to stop going camping with my family because she had trouble with nipping certain people she didn't know and my family didn't want to cause other family members/friends any concern! Sierra was a great guard dog, and would bark at anything strange going on around the yard! She would also attempt to chase down opossums and skunks that would get into the yard. Overall, these dogs are great to have in the family, however they do require the proper training to make sure they don't nip at strangers!
