It is sort of a soap opera the story of how Brownie came to our lives.
One day my dog Lubi, his father, escaped from our house coming back
after a few days with his girlfriend, Loba, and demanding she would move
in with us. After a couple months Brownie and his brothers were born.

Brownie was not only the cutest of all, but also the shyest and, being
absolutely honest, he was sort of silly too. That made me want to
protect him even more. He would always be left behind by his brothers,
got lost easily and was always the last one to get to his mom when it
was time to be fed.

While growing up he was kind of a rebel. He used to jump the fence
together with his brother and they even broke into my neighbor´s house.
The man came over to complain that my dogs entered his bathroom and
played with his toilet paper!

Later in life he kept jumping the fence but, instead of visiting my
neighbor, he went out to find girls. No one in the family could actually
stop him from doing this. We changed the fence for a higher one and yet
he managed to escape from home again breaking the new fence! I can´t
really determine the cause of his rebellious behavior. He was a mixed
breed dog so I don´t believe it was a matter of breed but just of
personality or male instinct.

Despite of all my dad´s jokes referring to how much of a dummy he was,
Brownie did reply to me every time I called him and he had his little
talent - he would put his cute little white paw on me whenever I knocked
on my leg. This was extra adorable since he was all brown and the only
white part of his body were his paws, that looked like natural socks on
him.
