Max - A Pit Bull and Whippet Mix

My brother adopted Max in November of last year. Max is a Whippet/Pit Bull mix; his head and face are distinctly pit bull, but his body is whippet. Max is hands-down the most loving and kind dog I've ever met. He is completely selfless and wants nothing more than to please his family members. He loves to be picked up and carried like a baby, and is a huge cuddle bug. He even volunteers to play with any puppies that are nearby - even if no one else will!

Because of Max's breed, he has tons of energy. TONS! The pit bull in him wants to play tug of war and wrestle, while the whippet in him wants to run in open fields and chase other dogs around the park. He needs to exercise for at least 1-3 hours per day, otherwise he gets very antsy and unhappy.

Max has his fair share of health problems, including an allergy to grain food (my brother buys him special grain-free food each month) and chronic ear infections. This has made him tricky to take care of, to say the least, but he is an exceptional dog none-the-less!

I recommend a pit bull/whippet mix if you want a loving family dog, however, make sure you have plenty of land and free time to take him/her on long runs!
