I got Penny from a shelter, so I don't know what breed she is except that she's definitely a Terrier of some sort. I stupidly adopted her on a whim--she was in a little cage, looking up at me with those eyes... She was very energetic and fun to play with, and got along well with my other dog, Sasha, and my cat. But she seemed to have anxiety issues because I couldn't leave her alone for any length of time--not even to go to the next room for 10 minutes--without her destroying something. Shoes and books in particular, she'd chew them to shreds. When she wasn't chewing things, she peed on the floor, even though I worked from home and took her out several times a day. She didn't seem to have a big appetite for dog food--I tried several different brands without success, and the vet said she was fine. I finally decided that she and I weren't a good match because she probably needed free access to a yard which I didn't have, so I gave her away to a nice couple. Obviously, this isn't how all Terriers behave, but this was my experience with Penny.
