I have always adopted pitbulls from the shelter as the shelters are usually overrun by them. I adopted Edward, the all white dog in the picture. I used my black and white female pit to choose him to ensure a perfect fit with the family. He has been nothing less than great. He is an amazing cuddler, and he regularly checks on children. The shelter approximated his age at 1 year old, and he needed minimal training. He is great with other dogs, especially if they are smaller than him, and he is on the fence about other male dogs. This I was worried about because of pitbulls being rather territorial. Other than wanting to eat cats, he does a great job with the chickens and has never shown anything other than initial curiosity. He is an amazing family pet and I can't imagine him not being a part of the family now.
