Juneau was a rescue from an organization in the southern United States. I had to submit adoption fees via PayPal and then they would drive a caravan of pups up to the NJ/NY area to their new families. Everyone thought I was a little nuts for pre-paying for a pooch I never met, but boy, did I hit the jack pot!

Juneau looks like a miniature Pitbull, with the signature Pitbull smile and thick paws, but she's only about 25 pounds. Her fur is on the wiry side, like a Jack Russell, so it's very easy to care for. When we first got her, she wasn't fully house trained, and also chewed up her new dog bed, a box of tissues and our check book (and that was just the first day or two). Needless to say, she took to crate training really well, and is very happy in a large crate that is just for her (but she shares happily with her brother from time to time). She can be a little uncertain of new people and especially bouncy/loud children, but she warms up in time. If you give her lots to chew on, plenty of snuggles, a good game of tug of war, and a crate to call home when you're away - she's a top-notch furbaby!
