A what? That was the question I was asked most, when I would say I had a Catahoula. How cool are they!! I adopted Miller from a rescue group. He was the cutest dog, I had ever seen. Although, he does have a mix in him he definitely looks the part of a Catahoula. The Catahoula became named the official state dog of Louisiana in 1979. The Catahoula comes in different colors but noticeable and unique, are the spots and markings. A short hair dog, easy maintenance. good natured, easy going, a lot of energy, and likes to bark. Good watchdog. Definitely needs room to run and perhaps some training classes. Good with kids.
