Ava was a beautiful dog! She had a brindle coloration with the markings of a boxer and the build of a pit. She was very loyal, staying by my side constantly. She knew when I was sick or sad and would stay right by me. She was very easy to train as a pup, and learned to help me with things like opening and closing doors, fetching things for me and other small assistance tasks. She was a great watch and guard dog. She would bark whenever someone opened the gate and entered my yard. Once she bit my (ex) boyfriend for assaulting me, and then stood in front of me growling until he left. She was very energetic and needed lots of outdoor exercise, which some people may not like, but I did. She was smart and silly and entertained me for hours each day. Never be afraid of a pit bull. Approach it like you would any other strange dog, with caution and care.
