My dog Dixie Mae has been a pleasure to own. She was extremely easy to house train. It took me under a week to house break her, and teach her the basic commands sit, down, and stay. She is wonderful with cats but with most you need to socialize them when they are puppies as their prey drive could cause them to chase small animals. Dogs in general need to be socialized well with everyone but teach them to be slightly weary of strangers if you want them to be guard dogs. They are extremely easy to care for but they eat a lot. Males need to be watched around other males because they can get extremely territorial. They also need to be taught not to bite or play too rough with other dogs as their size may cause them to hurt the smaller animals by mistake.
