Arwen was such a wonderful little dog. A Sheltie/Pomeranian mix is so hard to come by, but they are two of my favorite breeds and I had such great experiences with both that I was drawn to her in the shelter. She captured my heart right away with her sweet temperament and obvious attachment to me - she came right up to me and sat beside me with her head in my lap. She was already crate trained, housebroken, and knew many obedience commands (I taught her more in the couple of months that she lived with me, as well). I took her home, but learned quickly that she hated men due to her previously abusive owner. She was terrified of my husband and would snap at him whenever he tried to pet her, staying glued to my side. As a result of her immense attachment to me, I became incredibly attached to her; however, she was very divisive when my husband was home. Her previous abusive situation also caused her to feel intense separation anxiety, and she would bark loudly and mess in her crate whenever I would leave the house. I loved her dearly, but realized that she just wasn't the right fit for my family.
