Citara is my wilderness search and rescue dog here in Colorado.  She was born in our house and so we've raised her up from birth.  From a tiny pup of 4 weeks old, she was very watchful of our movements and learned our rules quickly.  Citara does not bark unless she is working, not even if strangers approach her domain.  She watches them intently, but is not interested in them if they approach her.  Citara was never shy around strangers, but was shy of them if they approached her specifically.  She learned quickly, though, to tolerate their petting although she'd rather avoid them.  Citara is a very intense and serious dog.  She enjoys her work and will do anything to please.  She prefers play and love rewards over food, even the most delicious ones.  We love her to pieces!
