I "inherited" Frankie when I married my husband. She was a lot of fun and I loved taking her to the park for walks and she always made me feel very safe when we went out for walks - she would place herself between me and other animals or people. When my daughter was born, she thought she was the mama and would lay beneath the crib and keep watch over the baby. Unfortunately, as soon as my daughter was mobile, Frankie became more skittish (she had always been somewhat nervous around kids and other dogs) and would growl quite a bit. She remained very protective of my daughter and loved her, but wasn't the best around my daughter on a day to day basis because of the growling. We tried everything but it was like a nervous tic. Once my daughter was older, Frankie went back to being herself but she passed in her sleep a few years later. She was a beautiful golden colour with a shiny coat. She loved to curl up with me and I'd brush her fur and she just loved to get prettied up!
