I've had Blue for about 12 years and he's a great dog. Very friendly and lovable and stills love to play in his old age. He is a very vocal dog, bark at nearly anything, but he warms up to new people almost immediately. He is good with other animals, getting along with both cats and dogs. He was never properly trained, so I can not speak to that, but he picked up basic tricks like "sit" and "lay" quickly. However, there are definitely some downsides to owning a husky, mainly the fur. They are cold weather dogs and if you live a warm climate like I do, they will get fur over everything. I could have made probably 10 winter coats with the amount of hair that he shed over the last 12 years. Additionally, he has had quite a few health problems that tend to come with older dogs, i.e. blown out knee, other joint issues, and fat tumors.
