This breed of dog was by far the most obedient and wonderful dog I have ever spent time with. She was trained from the time that she was a puppy, and because of this, she never barked, she never bit anyone, she was very relaxed, but active when we wanted her to be, she was loyal, and incredibly obedient.
Grooming was a struggle, due to the thick coat this dog carried. She shed a great amount, and required brushing at least once a week in the summer. She also grew to be fairly large in size, which would make an acreage or home with a large yard more suitable for this type of dog.
I would only recommend this type of dog to someone who has the time to groom their dog often, and someone who does not mind having to sweep/clean up a lot of dog hair. If these accommodations can be made, then I would say that this type of breed is excellent (when trained properly) for a family needing a relaxed dog who is good with children.
