The airedale is not only a highly intelligent dog, but also loyal to a fault and full of energy. My parents bought our airdedale, Wester, when I was just about 5 years old, and although I didn't directly train him until I got older, I've been told he was very open to learning and exercising. It's no secret that a dog like him requires a lot of physical activity, but that was the perfect choice for me and my fitness oriented family. He was incredibly kind and could easily be left alone with my baby sister for 5-10 minutes. He would actually lay down beside her crib and guard her, believe it or not. You also won't find a healthier and more agile dog out there, from what I have experienced. He was as much part of my family as my mom, my dad, and my sister. Really smart unlike many other dogs, and always ready to wake me up in the morning when I had to go to school. The best and most loving companion could have growing up, especially because I wasn't exactly popular in school. When no one else was there, he always was. Rest in piece, my friend. See you again someday.
