My experience with Denver

From the time we brought Denver home with us he was a very easily excitable dog. We did our best (my family members and I) to train him like we had always trained our other dogs, but for some reason he was always very stubborn and gave us a hard time with it. I think Airedale Terriers are gorgeous dogs and my aunt actually breeds them. I think the stubbornness was something that occurred just with Denver, though, because none of my aunt's personal dogs (which are also Airedale's) have that stubborn streak that he did. He didn't want to listen which ended up with him breaking his leg about 3 months after we brought him home because he jumped out of a screen door that had no stairs leading down to the ground. We continued to try to train him, but he eventually had to be put down after being hit by a car. Besides that stubborn streak though, he was a very well-mannered dog, great with children and other small animals and he was a great companion.
