Huskitas

Huskitas are hybrids between huskies and akitas. They are definitely not for the lazy or weak person. They can weigh in at around 80 lbs and are, if healthy, pure muscle. The husky gives them pulling power while the akita brings in a domineering, protective personality. If socialized they can sometimes be very friendly, but most are not for anyone who can't hold them back. They are extremely smart and need constant stimulation. Fencing must be strong, high and inescapable. These dogs can find holes very easily, as well as jump very high or even knock down some fences. A great guard dog, but not really one for a family pet. They are very good with people they know and with older kids, however they do best with a submissive dog and no smaller children. Due to both breeds, they need excercise daily. They aren't greedy with their food though and only need to be brushed every couple of days.
