Sophia the Slob, Ava the Paranoid

Sophie and her sister, Ava Gardner, were rescue momma cats. Practically still kittens themselves, they were discovered in an alley with a litter each. Everyone wanted the kittens, but the moms were left over. So we took them home!

Sophie is incredibly friendly, vocal, and chill. She always comes when called, always responds to speech with a meow, and loves everyone. She is an outside cat, and basically has a dog's soul.

She is also a complete slob. Her gray coat requires constant care, or else she develops dreadlocks within hours. We used to shave her every summer, just for a respite. She looked like a tiny, bewildered lion.

Her sister Ava is the opposite. Her coat is shades of brown and red and it shines with its own light. We never brush her, and there never is a need. She's gorgeous.

She's also incredibly neurotic. Whereas Sophie is friendly and open, Ava likes to sleep in the linen closet. She runs away frequently, startled by air, to hide in the bathroom. Catnip makes her paranoid. She is afraid of insects.

We can't account for their personalities or coats, but we love them the same. Luckily, despite being outside so often, neither have needed to go to the vet beyond preliminary treatment. And they both love to cuddle.

Neurotic or hippie, they make great pets! I love my weird sisters.
