I've had my cat for about six, almost seven years now, and overall I'm extremely glad with her.
I'd consider that the major pro of choosing this breed is how playful they are, also very independent when it comes to being left by themselves and also hygiene. On the other hand, if you're getting a pet for how affectionate he is, this is probably not the right breed for you. Attached with being very independent, they're also aggressive sometimes, and don't like to be bothered. Mine had some health issues and had to go under surgery which also turned out to be very expensive.
Overall, the breed doesn't require much care, and constant attention, so I'd say it's the right kind of breed for someone who's not home almost all day, and has little time to be there for a pet 24/7.
