Never met a Selkirk that I didn't like!

I got her when she was 3 yo, she is a Selkirk Rex Longhair. I had a Selkirk before (a shorthair) that I loved, when I lost him I set out looking for another one, but couldn't find a kitten so I bought her! I didn't plan on showing, but she had all of her titles (in TICA) except for the highest one. After she had been with me for three months, a friend of mine suggested I take her to a cat show just for fun. She received a Best Cat (alter) the first night and did quite well all weekend! We were hooked! The second year that I showed her, she was the leading Selkirk Rex Alter in the world!!

At first, she was a bit standoffish and scared at being in a new place. Gradually, at first, and then rapidly she became more friendly and cuddly, with me anyway. She is not a big fan of strangers but will tolerate them. The other Selkirks I have had will go to anyone, but I was her third home and I think that had an effect on her.

She is sweet and cuddly, but doesn't have to be on you every minute. She likes to play but is not destructive. She follows me around the house and flops down wherever I am and from time to time she hops up for a cuddle. I love her to death and will always have Selkirks -- love their personalities! Plus they are very easy to have around;)
