I found Athena as a stray cat many years ago near a local industrial warehouse. At the time, Athena was quite sickly appearing but after feeding her and a couple of trips to the vet, she began looking as beautiful as she was meant to.

Athena, like other Pixie-Bob cats was quite playful, although there were moments where this cat invitingly tried to bite. What I mean by that is upon laying down and being petted, it would occasionally get up and scratch if spooked for a quick second. That said, I attribute that less to the breed and more so what the cat may have endured over its past life living around a warehouse.

These cats DO love attention, however, and this in and of itself is an absolute necessity if owning this cat. Unlike my first cat, this cat needed playtime and would meow and scratch at the door if it didn't get any. So keep that in mind when getting this fun bundle of fur.

This cat does not shed very much compared to other cats during seasonal changes. It's coat is beautifully well-regulated by its own body but occasional baths are required. Depending on the cat, this is either easy or quite impossible. My experience with Athena was that getting her to bathe was impossible. However, I've seen Pixie-Bob cats jump in the bathtub!

These cats are incredibly intelligent; and love rough playing (play hunting, assuming the attack position, etc). I've noted that this cat always seems busy in that it's always "looking" for something to find, do, play with, scratch or eat. It's quite amusing assuming you have the time and patience for this very special breed. Overall, I'd recommend this cat to anyone looking for a beautiful, playful cat that wants a lot of attention.
