Persian Cats

I was a breeder and owner of pet quality as well as breeder/show quality Persians and found them to be beautiful and very intelligent. Like most cats, they tend to "own you" rather than the other way around! They are very fragile, however, and cannot be treated the same or fed the same as a regular domestic hybrid cat. They are more susceptible to disease, have a high mortality rate with regard to breeding, are very sensitive to fleas due to their heavy coats, have to be fed very high quality food and require a great deal of grooming. These cats should never be "outdoor" cats, as they are not resilient in the outside world. They thrive best if pampered.
