I’ve been living with my hairy companion ‚Sessie‘ for 15 years now. I can tell you that it is a really nice feeling to have a princess at home :)
Sessie radiates a wonderful, deep calm, a pleasant peacefulness. She is my perfect source of relaxation. After I get home from work and I see her sitting on that couch, I calm down immediately. Being with her, next to her, is so relaxing. This aspect is very important to me as I am a dynamic and active person, who is working a lot. Before I had Sessie, it has always been difficult for me to calm down, after getting home from work.
Persian Cats use to have very long hair. Sessie‘s hair is 7.8 centimeters long. Her beautiful grey coat requires daily grooming sessions to keep it in good condition. It is important to add that Persian Cats usually lose a lot of hair. So remember that you will do a lot of de-fluffing and cleaning work in your apartment.
From time to time my sweet woolen ball is bathed. I use my shampoo and my conditioner. Most cats hate taking a bath, Sessie does not complain.
Like most Persian Cats, Sessie has breathing difficulties and she often has glued-shut eyes, because of her flat nose. She snores louder than my grandfather! :) You need to clean her eyes regularly, at least three times a week. Moisten a soft cloth with warm water (take caution not to make it too hot!) and place the moist cloth on the matted eyes. Hold it there until the matted crust begins to loosen, which typically takes a couple of minutes. Very gently wipe the eye.
Because of the cat‘s docile temperament and her beautiful long coat I keep her in-door only. Persian Cats are usually very calm, they sleep a lot and they are not very playful.
A Persian Cat is an IDEAL domestic cat! Even though a Persian Cat means a lot of work and time investment I can’t imagine a day without her anymore. My Persian Cat Sessie is the most beautiful and elegant cat in the world.
There's one last thing you need to know: You can take it as a sighn of love, when a cat puts a dead mouse in front of your legs ;)
